Abstract
Details the life of Daniel Driscoll (d. 1864), a soldier and officer in the Union Army during the United States Civil War. Included are his diary, 1861-1864, describing his service, letters to his mother, a letter informing his mother of his death, enlistment and promotion documents, a photograph of Driscoll in uniform, documents related to federal survivors' pensions and other items from the extended Driscoll family. Provide a unique view of war service and imprisonment.
